This workshop is designed for health care professionals who manage preoperative patients and therefore often are confronted with complex surgical patients. Drawing upon well established evidence, it will focus on the overall care of these patients including; identifying risk factors, the steps for systematic assessment, and care strategies that can minimize complications.

Created for Med/Surg nurses, the N-CIW is aimed at increasing the participants’ comfort level when faced with the most likely medical emergencies that they could potentially see in their patient population. Using an interactive, small group case based format, participants will review initial emergency management.  read more »

The MD-CIW provides a practical skills update on crash cart equipment, reviewing the most likely medical emergencies that they could potentially see in their patient population. Designed to review and test emergency response procedures in Non-Hospital settings, such as private surgery centers, outpatient and diagnostic facilities. The NH-CIW is a case based workshop. A methodical approach is used to review the most common medical condition scenarios including chest pain, anaphylaxis, diabetic emergencies, respiratory emergencies, syncope, and seizures.  read more »
